Summertime in Croatia

Summertime in Croatia

It's December, I know :) But I thought maybe you'd like to see some of our summertime pics, so here they are Tadaaaam ;)

We decided to plan a summer vacation by the sea - so, we've spent a week in Croatia, Poreč. (Click for map view.) It was my first experience with Croatia and I've heard some ambivalent stories from my friends about it: some of them love it, some of them don't want to go there again. So, it seemed to be pretty exciting! : ) And I can tell you - as I don't choose movies by others' opinion, nor do I with choosing vacation destinations, hihi - Poreč has that mediteran feeling which could be the best for a relaxing seaside holiday.

on the road we had beautiful sunny weather

The Adriatic SEA. First evening.

Rocky seaside, plus gorgeous green and blue colors!

I visited Croatia for the first time, my husband had a visit a few years ago. We spent a week in the country in total, we stayed in Poreč, and I was so surprised - first by how quickly I fell in love with Croatia, and second by how it had been the easiest road trip of our life.

These stones are so shiny and slippery as the were polished by hundreds of feets.

I think Croatia intimidates a lot of people and keeps them away from traveling independently. Perhaps because most people think of an Eastern European country at war, when in reality Croatia is much more similar to Western Europe than Eastern Europe. Croatia is an EU member - so we had only our ID card with us and go -, and there hasn’t been a war for about 20 years. The country is safe, German and English is widely spoken, and it could fit for all kinds of travelers, from adventurous backpackers to sun-seekers who don’t plan on leaving their hotel or camp.

We stayed in an apartment which held by a Croatian family. Our landlady, Anita was extremely friendly and helpful. Our apartment was clean, tidy and had a modern accommodation and a cute balcony! :) We had our breakfast out there each and every day starting with a fresh summer mood.

We had the chance to try a new beach each day as they were only 10 minutes away from our apartment by car. So we visited Plava Laguna (Blue Lagoon), Zelena Laguna (Green Lagoon), etc. A new beach every day! That was fun, we loved to swim in the Adriatic Sea, hanging out with seagulls at rocky beaches and lay out on the rocks, sun-bathing - we had a very nice tan.

We had a lovely week. And would definitely go again! :)

Enjoy your day, xoxo
PS: ...and plan your next summer holiday to Poreč ;)
