Vacation in Bari, Italy

Vacation in Bari, Italy

It's been a long time since I've written a post for my beloved blog. Time flies - yes. Now here I come with a short summery of my awesome vacation in South Europe: Bari, Italy and Polignano a Mare, Italy (both in Puglia county).

First of all if you hesitate: just do it - go to South Italy. It has such a nice atmosphere and more cozy than North cities - like Rome for example (which is lovely, but that's a metropolis). We had our 2nd wedding anniversary with my sweetheart in June and we had an idea to make it more memorable and fun than just a dinner. As we had only a few days for this plan we've picked a destination which is romantic and not so far from Budapest. First we thought Venice, Italy would e nice... but then we've changed our mind as the June is more likely for a real SUMMER destination.

So, we checked different Italian cities and have found Bari - which is 1 hour and 25 minutes by air. And we found it has a cute name, as "bari" meaning in Hungarian: diminutive form of lamb, a little lamb : ) We've picked an apartment in downtown and spent a really fun time in Bari and we visited Polignano a Mare justly famous for its lovely beach - which is 20 minutes from Bari via train and the trains in Italy are air conditioned, run frequently plus cheap - justly famous for its lovely beach.

Here comes the pics : )

Bari, Italy - downtown
Bari, Italy - port
Bari, Italy - look up
Bari, Italy - cycles in old town district
Bari, Italy - my fav mint green shuttered building
Bari, Italy - port by night walk
And more pics : )

Polignano a Mare - view from the beach
Polignano a Mare - seaside

Polignano a Mare -the beach

Polignano a Mare - the beach
Plus a probably well-known advice: eat pizza, focaccia and ice-cream (Italian word: gelato) in small places, they'll be your favs beside the beach ; )

We've tried some places which had really good ranking on Tripadvisor and have to tell you, they're crazy good!!! : )

Cibo' in Bari - the chef and tones of yammieness

Cibo' in Bari - a heavenly Margarita slice and a ruccola-tomato-mozzarella cheese "cold" pizza

Gusto Caruso Gelateria e Yogurteria in Polignano a Mare

Well, it has so many-many cool places... We ate so many delicious streetfood that we didn't had more space for eating in a classic style restaurant. Haha. But next time we'll try one. Planning to go back to this awesome part of Europe.

Have a lovely day and GO TO BARI, Italy! : )
...and Polignano a Mare too.

Bridal Set - how it was in the begining?

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Hi,
As promised in the last post, I tell you how it was all about w/ Agnes' bridal jewelry set.
I've received a cute wedding invitation from two friends of mine. I was really glad to hear about their plans! The next thing was the wedding gift on my mind. After chating with the bride about everything I have found out what if I'd design and create a pair of earrings and/or a necklace for her? And that would be my gift for their wedding.

You can say it is a one-side gift, as it is for the bride only... But actually it was a gift for both sides as the groom can enjoy the sparkly smile on his beloved bride's face! And this is priceless in my opinion.

So, we had the idea and was excited about it. I asked her to tell me all the details of her plans: dress, hair, place, colors and so on. She sent me pictures about them and of jewelry she likes.

Here you can see some of them:

Drop or pear shaped dangle earrings.

 Oval shaped dangle earrings.

Hairstyles she loved to have.

The time was quite short: we realized two weeks full of programs such as dress trying, hunting for wedding shooes, and working meanwhile... will fly away. Many-many "dates" we wanted to meet each other was canceled because of some prior task she had to do.

Will continue with this story next time. Now it is a weekend, summertime! Let's get ourselfs to go out & have fun we have a beautiful warm sunny day!
Enjoy your day!

Earrings, earrings, earrings...

Saturday, July 14, 2012

Hi,
To be honest my favorite jewelry category is not an is, but are earrings! ; )))
So, what does it mean to me? It means that I love the most to wear & create earrings the most! <3
Wonder if you have the same feelings... Perhaps, you're a ring-maniac or a bracelet-fan or necklace-crazy type? It is all OK! I can understand your feelings then!

Yes, there is one more thing I didn't mention: all jewelry-lovers. Well, they could "eat" anything what sparkling actually! They have the hardest project! Hihi... They never can get enough jewelry. I mean they have not only a list, but a huge circle about the next jewelry they need. Woohoo, lucky me!

As a jeweler I've met some "all jewelry crazy" girls, women, chicks, ladies - and can tell you, they're adorable! It could be so sweet when one of them appologies about they have choosen a whole set, not only one piece of jewelry! Really adorable when they try on them and got that stary eyes.

Perhaps I have mentioned already, I have a newbie project: I design & create wedding jewelry. That gives me so much. Actually I'm inspired by a pretty bridal dress, a beautiful bridal bouquet, a place where a wedding will be and most of all a happy engaged couple.

I show you some of them:

White roses bouquet by Morgan Hill Designs

Asymmetrical bridal dress by Pronovias

Happy engaged couple by real life. :)

What you can see on this 3rd pic is the main point of the inspiration. She wored my bridal jewelry set on her big day. I can tell you in this project everything started w/ earrings on my side... What a surprise?!

She had the dress you can see upper and she planned to have a full white bouquet - not that one up there but something like that.

Next time I'll tell you how it was: planing, trying, creating  a handmade jewelry set for her big day.
Enjoy your day!

Bright Summer days?

Thursday, July 12, 2012

Hi,
I'm planing to make some photos of newly finished earrings & necklaces today. Sun is shining, so it is a good day for this kind of activity. Yuppie!

I've finished one, it is a pretty purple & white bridesmaid jewelry, OK I show you:

You'll find this sweetie  in my "Wedding earrings" shop section:

Well, I have to take a short break w/ my picture making stuff, as somebody rings our bell.
We expect two visitors.
Telling you why:

This summer is a strange one: Monday raining 16 C, Tuesday cloudy 21 C, Wednesday sunny 30 C - rather say it's spring. My favorite season is spring, so it isn't a complain anyway!

The apartment where I live together w/ my honey has many-many windows, lucky we!!! We have bright livingroom and kitchen as well. We can see big green trees all around: chestnut w/ lovely pinkish white flowers (now they're gone and it's full w/ green leaves). To be honest it was one of the main points when we started to rent our place: green, calm, bright surroundings.

We had some rainy days. Once we were hearing drop-drop-drop. After tirckling sound. We didn't have a clue where is it come from. Then we figured out there is a fault on a window's edge - outside...
Now here is a handyman w/ the owner of the flat. Two men. I think there will be many things to repair on windows... I can think about only that everything will be quick and smooth w/ this repairing stuff.

Please-please let it be.

Enjoy your day!
xoxo
